Eng. Marchetti, Wolf System is a reference name for agri-food structures. Could you tell us how you got involved in the beer industry?

We have been operating for over 50 years in the field of prefabricated buildings, with strong roots in the agri-food sector. Our business is aimed, among other things, at wine cellars, which represent a significant share of our customers. The brewing world is similar, with needs for isolation for fermentation and maturation, customised spaces and a growing attention to sustainability.

Which phases of beer production do your facilities cover and what special features distinguish them?

Our solutions cover the entire cycle: from the storage of raw materials to packaging. Unlike the classic concrete warehouse, we offer customised architectural works, with an attractive design to enhance the company's image. The client, often in collaboration with a trusted architect, puts down the idea on paper, and we create it with tailor-made finishes, colours and textures. For breweries that can be visited, we include educational paths: suspended walkways or glass corridors that allow you to observe the production without violating HACCP standards. Easily washable materials for the interiors ensure compliance with hygiene regulations.

Other issues that companies pay attention to are sustainability and energy efficiency. What do you offer for the facilities you build?

Sustainability is transversal. We use wood from PEFC-certified supply chains and low-impact steel, with ISO 14001 environmental standard. For thermal insulation, we offer high-efficiency building packages, which optimise temperature maintenance and reduce cooling or heating costs. In a craft brewery, this means less energy consumption, without sacrificing aesthetics.

... and what about building certifications? Is it possible to have a complete "package"?

When we supply the building envelope, we offer certification support. In Italy, CasaClima is an ideal certification body for energy efficiency. In larger projects, like industrial breweries, we offer the LEED or Well standards. For all options, our technicians manage the process at every stage.

Finally, what does supporting craft breweries mean for Wolf System from a sustainable perspective?

For us, it means translating craftsmanship into intelligent structures. Prefabrication speeds up time – assembly in weeks, not months – and customisation preserves identity, as in our projects for facilities with integrated tasting areas. For breweries, it means optimising processes, reducing operating costs and opening up to tourism, while maintaining the constant quality of the product.
