SIMEI is the largest strictly specialized exhibition, which presents at the same time all kind of machinery and equipment for oenology and for beverage production,bottling and packaging (wine, beer, mineral water, carbonated drinks, juices, spirits, brandies, alcohol, vinegar, cooking oil etc.).
Together with wine-making machines, equipment and products at the SIMEI you can also find the full monty for the “Beverage” sector: every type of machinery for the process, the bottling and the packaging of drinks is on show.
Small-, medium- and large-sized bottling line equipment – with a very wide range which suits every production capacity -, all kind of machinery for wine-making and the various wine treatments, materials and machines for the packaging cycle of bottled liquids, in-house equipment, containers in any shape or form, technological adjuvants and so on are displayed in the technically most modernized and economically most advantageous version. .
The 23rd SIMEI of November 2009 was attended by 705 companies from 25 countries in a covered area of 90,000 sqm., and the exhibition was visited by 51,545 trade visitors – 9,575 foreigners - from 100 countries of the whole world.

PRODUCT RANGE
The general regulation of the Exhibition – section 10 – provides for the following big categories of materials, machines or equipment:

CAT. 1 – Production such as: stalk-removing machines, distilling equipment, crushers, presses, separators, draining tanks, crumbling machines, wine-making machines, etc.
CAT. 2 – Handling and processing such as: pressure tanks, centrifuges, concentrators, desulfiting machinery, filters, pasteurizers, ion exchangers, etc.
CAT. 3 – Bottling, conditioning and packaging such as: capsuling machines, dispensers, labellers, bottling machines, case packers, washers, sterilizing equipment, cappers and corkers, carton sealing machines, packaging machines, ranging machines, etc.
CAT. 4 – Storage materials and containers such as: tanks, vats made of wood or other materials, kegs, bottles, demijohns, etc.
CAT. 5 – Equipment for in-house transport and for the maintenance of materials in section 1, 2, 3 and 4.
CAT. 6 – Accessory equipment such as: corks, caps, capsules, labels, baskets, cases, racks, etc.
CAT. 7 – Wine-making products and winery cleaning preparations such as: glues, detergents, filtering agents, etc., as well as laboratory equipment and products and accessory substances for the production of wine, spirits, oil, soft drinks.
CAT. 8 – Miscellaneous, such as: publishing houses, trade fairs, associations, etc.

The machinery, equipment and materials mentioned above are usually used by companies producing and/or bottling drinks in general such as wine, beers, mineral waters, soft drinks, juices, vinegar, brandies, spirits, alcohol, cooking oil..
